Magnetic domain walls of relic fermions as Dark Energy
نویسنده
چکیده
We show that relic fermions of the Big Bang can enter a ferromagnetic state if they possess a magnetic moment and satisfy the requirements of Stoner theory of itinerant ferromagnetism. The domain walls of this ferromagnetism can successfully simulate Dark Energy over the observable epoch spanning ∼ 10 billion years. We obtain conditions on the anomalous magnetic moment of such fermions and their masses. Known neutrinos fail to satisfy the requirements thus pointing to the possibility of a new ultralight sector in Particle Physics.

Quantum Interference Control of Ballistic Magneto- resistance in a Magnetic Nanowire Containing Two Atomic- Size Domain Walls
The magnetoresistance of a one-dimensional electron gas in a metallic ferromagnetic nanowire containing two atomic-size domain walls has been investigated in the presence of spin-orbit interaction. The magnetoresistance is calculated in the ballistic regime, within the Landauer-Büttiker formalism. It has been demonstrated that the conductance of a magnetic nanowire with double domain walls...

Article history: Received 9 November 2012 Received in revised form 26 March 2013 Accepted 22 April 2013 Available online 24 April 2013 Editor: S. Dodelson We consider dark matter (DM) that interacts with ordinary matter exclusively through an electromagnetic anapole, which is the only allowed electromagnetic form factor for Majorana fermions. We show that unlike DM particles with an electric or...
متن کاملSterile neutrinos: the dark side of the light fermions
The discovery of neutrino masses suggests the likely existence of gauge singlet fermions that participate in the neutrino mass generation via the seesaw mechanism. The masses of the corresponding degrees of freedom can range from well below the electroweak scale to the Planck scale. If some of the singlet fermions are light, the sterile neutrinos appear in the low-energy effective theory. They ...

In this paper we discuss once more the zero mode contribution to the vacuum energy density. We show that a careful treatment of the zero modes leads to the conclusion that domain walls may be ferromagnetic, and could generate a magnetic field of cosmological interest. متن کاملDynamics of Walls: Fermion Scattering in Magnetic Field
We investigate the scattering of fermions off walls in the presence of a magnetic field. We consider both the bubble wall and the kink domain wall. By solving the Dirac equation for fermions in the presence of a domain wall in an external magnetic field, we investigate the dependence on the magnetic field of the transmission and reflection coefficients. In the case of kink domain wall, we also ...
